arrow International performer: Amanda has performed in London, Japan, Taiwan, Bahrain, Mauritius, Bahrain, U.A.E and Zimbabwe.
arrow She has been touring Asia regularly as a featured jazz artist with her trio there – the a.s.k. trio. A.s.k. trio recorded their first album in Amsterdam earlier this year, and it is now distributed in Japan.
arrow The trio was invited to perform on the Taipei international Jazz Festival 2009, and followed that with a tour of Japan, playing venues in Tokyo, and various other cities.
arrow Amanda was featured with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, in 2007 performing music from the documentary feature, Ocean Voyagers, at its International Premiere for Animal Planet.
arrow Amanda has toured with various theatre shows and has undertaken several hotel contracts in Bahrain, Mauritius, U.A.E and Zimbabwe.

arrow Amanda was also the South African choir director and backing singer for George Benson’s Nat King Cole Tribute Concert on the 2010 Cape Town International Jazz Festival.
arrow Amanda has performed as a featured soloist on the Standard Bank National Jazz Festival in Grahamstown, in 2004 and 2006, and with the a.s.k trio in 2010.
arrow Amanda has also featured with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra at the gala evening Night Of 100 Stars, 2005 at the Artscape Opera House, and with the Durban City Orchestra, performing her own compositions orchestrated by German conductor Philipp Maier.
arrow She is a popular regular performer at top Cape Town Jazz venues, including The Green Dolphin, Pigalle, Paranga, Sheraton Hotel, The Cape Quarter, Fogey’s Railway House.

Recording
arrow Amanda has recorded 3 albums, the most recent in Amsterdam with the a.s.k trio.
arrow Amanda released her second album, “A Woman Like Me” in 2007. The album showcases Amanda’s jazzy vocal dexterity with a collection of Jazz Standards, as well as a number of her own compositions.
arrow Amanda released recording debut album, “Who Am I?” in late 2005.
arrow She is a regular session singer and can be heard on a number of commercials running on South African Television and radio.
arrow Featured as vocalist on internationally released documentaries and feature films for SA composers, including the award-winning score of Australian feature film “The Jammed”

Theatre performer, Musical Director
Amanda works is a Naledi-Award-nominated musical director and bandleader, generating various productions for the stage and for the corporate market, as well as running and writing for her own group.
arrow In 2009 Amanda performed in and musically directed the Fleur Du Cap Award-winning show Not The Midnight Mass – Celebrating 21 Years. She received a Naledi Award nomination for her Musical Direction of this production.
arrow Amanda was also Musical Director on the acclaimed production of Noah of Cape Town, which received rave reviews.

arrow She has successfully produced a number of solo shows, to critical acclaim, most recently the all-jazz show Now You has Jazz.
arrow She produced and performed in Piano In My Pocket, which received rave reviews and played to capacity houses at On Broadway. The show enjoyed a successful return season at Waterfront venue, Theatre @ the Pavilion in 2006 and has been booked for various corporate events and concerts.
arrow Performed in, and musically directed her own show I’m Every Woman – a tribute to Female Vocalists of the 20th Century, and the Jazz tribute shows Ultimate and Ultimate Two.
arrow Amanda has performed in various musical productions:
o Abrahamse/Lingenfelder productions ABBAish/ABBAtoir, Discovery/Discovery Much, and Solid Gold Jukebox - Live!
o Performed in and musically directed The Shakespeare Revue, Baxter Theatre
o Musical director and featured as the piano-playing/singing character, Amelia in the 2004 season of the Shakespeare at Maynardville, in Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Fred Abrahamse
o Joined acclaimed a Cappella group, Not the Midnight Mass in 2001 as Musical Director, and later as a performer, for their live recording at the Planetarium, and for their run at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre.

Writer
arrow Amanda is a talented song-writer, performing and recording her own music with her band.
arrow Amanda has written songs and collaborated with acclaimed electro-pop group, Coda, which features electric cello, electric violin, vocalist and DJ.
arrow Professional arranger for numerous groups in varying formats: Vocal ensemble; Jazz big band; smaller jazz and pop ensemble; Small ensemble using strings, and some orchestral writing.
arrow Amanda wrote additional arrangements, and re-arrangements for Graham Weir’s a cappella musical, Noah of Cape Town.
arrow Amanda orchestrated and arranged the music for Graham Weir and Megan Furniss’ quirky A Circus Sideshow, at Artscape Theatre.
arrow Amanda assisted with Orchestrations for the jazz opera "Love And Green Onions" in 2002 - performances at The National Arts Festival, and The Baxter Theatre, Cape Town.
arrow Composer for short film "The Girl Next Door"
arrow In 2005, Amanda was selected to be one of 20 participants in a film scoring workshop at New York University. The trip was funded with prize money from the SAMRO Overseas Scholarship, Composition, in which Amanda won the runner-up award.

Educator
arrow Amanda is currently Jazz Vocal Lecturer at the University of Cape Town, and already has revitalized the Jazz Vocal program there.
o She initiated a new Jazz Choir and highly acclaimed UCT Jazz Voices vocal ensemble.
o The UCT Jazz Voices were invited to perform on the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Festival in Grahamstown in July 2010, and are featured on the new UCT Jazz CD.
o Four of her students wowed audiences and made it the semi-finals of the Grand West Jazz Singing competition. One of them may just win it…
arrow Has worked as vocal coach and jazz piano tutor, running a busy private teaching practice.
arrow Taught and lectured at tertiary institutions and schools in varying music-related fields: These include the University Of Cape Town, Cityvarsity Multimedia School and AFDA Film and Drama School.
arrow She regularly takes part in the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Festival Grahamstown, as an educator, and established a National Youth Jazz Choir.
arrow Runs vocal clinics and workshops.
